Video Blog Entry

Posted on Sep 6th, 2006 by Frank : Social Media Correspondent Frank
Hey folks.  I just did my first video blog.  Unfortuneately Zaadz doesn't let me embed it here, like other blogs do.  I'll have to mention that to Brian :)

Zen and Christianity

Posted on Sep 12th, 2006 by Frank : Social Media Correspondent Frank
I have completed my reading/listening of "The Power of Now".  This book has touch me in ways no other book has.

After reading this book I did observe a few thoughts bouncing around in my brain that I thought were worth exploring.  One was:

"How can I integrate Eckharts teachings and Zen with my Christian beleifs?"

I did a little Googling and found the followoing article that I enjoyed very much:

Random Stuff About Me

Posted on Sep 14th, 2006 by Frank : Social Media Correspondent Frank

I thought it would be fun to just sit and ramble off as many random thoughts about myself as I could think of.  Here we go:

-  I was named after my Great Grandfather, a protestant minister

-  I am in the United States Air Force Reserves

-  My middle name, Judson, is that of a christian martyr

-  I ran my first marathon at the age of 34 and cried for the last quarter mile

-  I read or listen to audio versions of self-help or spirituality books almost exclusively

-  My mother still cries 50% of the time we're ending our phone calls

-  My weight fluctuates 20-30 lbs at least once or twice a year

I need a job really, really bad.

Posted on Sep 14th, 2006 by Frank : Social Media Correspondent Frank

I don't know if I have any regular readers of my blog, but if so, there are those of you who know that I've been actively looking for work in the software industry for about 8 weeks.  My last assignment at Siemens ended prematurely due to budget problems and I've been looking ever since.

I'd really like to find work doing something that makes me feel as if I'm having a positive impact on the world.  Maybe someplace like Zaadz itself, maybe a similar company.  I interviewed with a wonderful company named Ternary Software last year, but they didn't really have an opening in roles that were a good fit for me.

If anyone is aware of friendly software companies, perhaps ones that are telecomuting friendly, and that are also hiring, please drop me a line.

I suddenly seem to want ...

Posted on Sep 14th, 2006 by Frank : Social Media Correspondent Frank
... to spend all of my time here at Zaadz.   Well, I shouldn't really say all of my time, but most of it.  You see at times I am very suseptible to getting myself addicted to living in the net.  However, most of the time, that experience is wasted and not very productive.

I can't say the same thing for Zaadz. Every experience, every life I've touched, every life that has touched mine, because of Zaadz has been a pleasent experience.  That is a good thing.

I'm preoccupied right now with my inability to land a new software gig and Zaadz has been instumental in helping me to cope with that.  Someday I hope to be able to return the favor.

In the mean time (as of right now) I'm thinking of spending a fare amount of time pouring my heart and sould into this thing called Zaadz.  If nothing else perhaps I can help show others how it has helped me.

Oh my God

I don't know how many of you have heard about the remarks that the Pope has made in a recent speech, but simply go to Google News and look at the top article, it will be there.

Being a catholic I'm sure that the Pope had good intentions when he made the remarks he made, which in fact were simply reading the remarks of an eariler "scholar" when discussing the use of reason when evaluating what Muhammad beleived.  But the power of one man's words are amazing to me.  I beleive the Pope has now, quite possbility, turned the worlds recent terrorism problems into a full scale holy war, if it wasn't considered that already.

I beleive the Pope will get on a world stage and apologize for his speech, but will it be too late?

A Book That Changes Lives

Posted on Sep 18th, 2006 by Frank : Social Media Correspondent Frank
I read "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" last night.  I bought it on Saturday, starting reading it last night and couldn't put it down.  Read if cover-to-cover in about 5 hours.

I heard about it from Brian on one of his podcasts.

You'll have to read the book to understand just exatly how I feel right now.  I can be pretty suseptible to influcence by books so I have to be careful. But I must say that this one is a hum-dinger.

I love you all!
